Why attend

Introduce the revised IUCN Global NbS Standard and its relevance for the Pacific region.

Session Description

NbS are increasingly recognised as critical for addressing interconnected challenges of climate change, biodiversity loss, and sustainable development. The revised standard, to be launched at the WCC, provides a rigorous and transparent framework to design, assess, and scale high-quality NbS interventions. This high-level side event will explore how the revised IUCN Global NbS Standard can be adapted for Pacific realities, and how emerging tools like the IUCN NbS Hub and online self-assessment platform can help projects align with global best practices. The event will also showcase how alignment with the Standard can be used to attract climate and biodiversity financing, engage the private sector, and feed into a global map of credible NbS projects.
