Participants should attend to understand how private sector could join forces with different sector of society to actively conserve biodiversity and ecosystems services, playing an important role on helping to halting and reversing the decline of species and ecosystems and help to shift results toward a nature-positive future.

Session Description

The Private Reserves Network is a collective made up of companies and NGOs that own private reserves of relevant conservation status for biodiversity and ecosystem services, necessary for the survival and maintenance of the quality of life of the entire global community. Present in several Brazilian states, in different biomes, acting in an integrated manner with conservation institutions, civil society organizations, environmental agencies, among others, these areas have been promoting actions related with the effective management of protected natural areas and contributing with the achievements of the targets of the Global Biodiversity Framework of Kunming-Montreal, especially Target 3, and also national plan and targets. This session will bring some business and NGO representatives aiming to discuss the results and tools that can support the strengthening of these areas and their conservation values, including IUCN Green List and OECMs.
