Session Description
Natural rangelands cover 54% of the Earth's surface and support 60% of global food production, yet they suffer from severe underinvestment and inadequate policy attention despite their enormous economic and environmental value. In the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, rangelands cover 146 million hectares (73% of the Kingdom's area), making them a vital strategic resource for achieving Vision 2030 goals and the Saudi Green Initiative.Session Objectives:
1. Highlight the true economic value of natural rangelands at local and global levels
2. Present successful models of sustainable investment in natural rangelands
3. Discuss economic challenges and opportunities in rangeland management
4. Provide practical recommendations to enhance investment in the natural rangelands sector
