Why attend
The Coral Triangle (Indonesia, Malaysia, Papua New Guinea, the Philippines, Solomon Islands, and Timor-Leste) is a global biodiversity hotspot and key to achieving 30x30. This session highlights how the countries are strengthening the effectiveness of marine conservation through their Regional Plan of Action, supported by the IUCN Green List.
Session Description
The Coral Triangle Initiative on Coral Reefs, Fisheries, and Food Security (CTI-CFF) is advancing its Regional Plan of Action v2.0 to secure effective, equitable, and climate-resilient marine conservation. Central to this agenda is marine conservation effectiveness ensuring that protected and conserved areas deliver tangible benefits for biodiversity, fisheries, and people. This session will showcase how regional and global partnerships, combined with the IUCN Green List Standard, provide rigorous benchmarks to strengthen governance, management, and monitoring across the region. PANORAMA Solutions will be featured as a platform to share and replicate successful practices from the Coral Triangle and beyond. Special emphasis will be placed on inclusive leadership, through the Women Leaders Forum and GESI approaches, linking equity with effectiveness. Innovative financing, including the proposed Indonesia Coral Reef Bond, will further demonstrate how conservation outcomes can be sustained and scaled.Organized by
