Why attend

To contribute to a dialogue shaping a new Ocean Breakthrough focused on integrating and elevating the knowledge, leadership, and priorities of Ocean Peoples. This session will spotlight rights, finance, governance, and capacity-building as essential pillars for inclusive, effective global ocean conservation.

Session Description

This session will gather perspectives from Indigenous Peoples, local communities, and supporting stakeholders to co-design the vision and priorities for a new People of the Ocean Breakthrough. Building on perspectives gathered across global forums, the session will explore the key dimensions of inclusive governance. It will use a highly-interactive fishbowl format to collect input and build consensus among participants on the priorities, conditions, and opportunities for a new Ocean Breakthrough centering IPLC leadership.
