Why attend
Participants will gain insights into cutting-edge, scalable solutions for Asian elephant conservation, learn from cross-sector success stories, and discover how collaborative action can drive policy, innovation, and community impact aligned with global biodiversity goals.
Session Description
Asian elephants are facing a critical juncture—threatened by habitat loss, conflict, poaching, and climate change. As a keystone species, their decline signals broader ecosystem degradation. This session will convene governments, conservationists, Indigenous leaders, scientists, and tech innovators to accelerate implementation of the Siem Reap Declaration (Feb 2025) and align action with CITES, CMS, and the Kunming-Montreal Global Biodiversity Framework. Through dynamic dialogue, the session will spotlight scalable, inclusive solutions—leveraging frontier technologies, traditional knowledge, and cross-sector partnerships. Key themes include human-elephant coexistence, habitat restoration, community-led conservation, and financing mechanisms. The session aims to catalyze transformative, regionally driven outcomes that contribute to the SDGs and long-term survival of Asia’s elephants.
