Navigating Nature Datasets: Matching the Right Data Types to Your Sustainability Goals and Nature Journey Stage

Session Description

Sustainability managers face information overload: with hundreds of nature datasets available, teams struggle to identify which datasets actually matter for their nature-positive-aligned strategies. A reframe can help: instead of focusing on which specific dataset to choose, consider when different types of data are needed. Risk screening requires different data than impact measurement or target setting. This session will provide clarity on the different use cases, and tradeoffs, for various types of data: when do global datasets suffice and when is high-resolution data necessary? We will also discuss what's emerging on the horizon for nature data.
