Session Description
This session shares successful approaches to gender-inclusive nature-based solutions (NbS) in climate and biodiversity programming that strengthen conservation, sustainable livelihoods, and local governance.Project partners in West Africa (SOCODEVI, Cégep de la Gaspésie et des îles), Central Africa (BAASTEL, Noé) and East Africa (Mission Inclusion) will share successful experiences and best practices to anchor gender-inclusive NbS in traditional and local knowledge, by supporting human rights, inclusive governance of natural resources, and women’s leadership.
The workshop will demonstrate that holistic approaches to inclusion are an essential strategic lever for building nature-positive economies in marine spaces, and will encourage donors and partners to support transformative, regenerative conservation models rooted in the cultural traditions of communities.
