I hold an MSc in Social Anthropology from the University of Oxford, and since 2013 have conducted research and project implementation for conservation and rights initiatives in the LAC region. These have involved working within the Chilean Patagonia PFP initiative, to integrate the perspectives of Gateway Communities into the management of 17 national parks; as well as more recently supporting the creation of a Special Protected Area in Northwest Guyana. I have consulted for the United Nations on education, migration and indigenous languages; for Conservation International on the role of Gender in conservation throughout the Amazon; and have founded and led a non-profit organisation (Voices GY) that led grassroots climate change and conservation activities in the Caribbean. Since 2023, I have supported IUCN's Protected and Conserved Areas team.
