edward PERRY

Biography

Edward Perry is a Biodiversity Policy Analyst at the OECD Environment Directorate. His work focuses on biodiversity finance, the design of policy instruments – particularly economic incentives – and the integration of biodiversity across sectors. He has advised governments and published numerous OECD publications on these issues, most recently serving as lead author of the 2025 OECD report on Scaling up Biodiversity-Positive Incentives.


Edward’s previous roles include Special Advisor to the OECD Environment Director and Global Climate Change Programme Coordinator at BirdLife International. Originally from New Zealand, he has worked on environmental projects in Europe, Sub-Saharan Africa, Southeast Asia, and Latin America and the Caribbean. He holds an MPhil in Geography and Environment from the University of Oxford, specialising in biodiversity conservation, and a BSc from University College Utrecht.
