Emmanuelle COHEN-SHACHAM

Biography

Emmanuelle is an independent consultant, researcher, project and group lead, working in fields related to Nature-based Solutions (NbS), environmental sciences and policy. She has 23 years of experience with academic, non-governmental and governmental organisations, at regional, national and international levels. 
Passionate about contributing to nature conservation, she has been working with IUCN and its Commission on Ecosystem Management since 2012, co-leading the development of IUCN's definitional and operational framework for NbS. The NbS related publications she has led have over 3450 citations.
Emmanuelle holds a PhD from Tel-Aviv University, with a thesis focusing on the link between the provision on ecosystem services and ecosystem management in Mediterranean Wetlands, and an MSc in Environmental Sciences from the University of Wageningen, the Netherlands.
