Biography
Marie has a background in Biology and holds a master's degree in Biodiversity and Ecology, with specialisation on conservation biology. She has worked on various protected area and forest ecology related topics, including in Mongolia, Madagascar and the Swiss Alps, and has volunteered with conservation organisations over several years.
Marie has been with the IUCN Global Protected Areas Programme since 2011, and she is now working on compiling and promoting success stories that demonstrate best practice, innovative approaches and lessons learnt in protected areas, and helping develop ways to scale up these solutions.
Marie is fluent in English, French, and her native German, and fond of everything natural, especially forests and oceans.
