Mr Hammad Saeed is a development professional and he has been affiliated with the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) for more than a decade, with experience in both Switzerland and Pakistan. His/her expertise spans project management, climate change, rural development, sustainable agriculture, communications, and knowledge management, gained through working in diverse, multicultural environments.
At IUCN Headquarters in Switzerland, Mr Saeed contributed to the development of a global communications platform for Members and the secretariat, and facilitated the rollout of IUCN’s global communications strategy in Asia and specifically in Pakistan. He also managed the digital platform for a regional coastal ecosystem project spanning 11 countries.
In Pakistan, Mr Saeed has collaborated extensively with the Ministry of Climate Change, provincial environment and forest departments, academia, and media. He serves as the focal point for 29 IUCN member organizations in Pakistan, ensuring their active engagement in national and regional conservation initiatives.
Mr Saeed has managed major projects including the UNEP-hosted World Environment Day 2021 in Pakistan, gender-responsive climate action plans funded by OXFAM, and REDD+ awareness campaigns supported by the World Bank. He has also contributed to developing the Sustainable Development Strategy and State of Environment Report for Azad Jammu and Kashmir.
Recognized for advancing conservation and climate resilience, Mr Saeed combines communications expertise with strong stakeholder engagement to promote sustainable development.
