As a young marine conservationist and scientist, Harper Thomas’s open mind and curious heart have led her around the world to volunteer and work on projects to educate herself and contribute to the greater marine knowledge of the world. She is known to be up for a challenge and willing to put in the work. She works collaboratively with others, creating her marine research project, as well as proving to be a driven individual. With Families in Nature, Harper has taken her Humboldt project documenting the biodiversity of the coral reef ecosystems of Tela Bay, Honduras to New York City for the WINGS Worldquest Conference. She will also present her research at the International Union for the Conservation of Nature’s World Conservation Congress in Abu Dhabi. Harper is abundantly eager to learn, and hopeful that she can make a difference in the world that she sees so much good and life in.
