Heather DE-QUINCEY

Biography

Heather De Quincey is a sustainability expert specialising in the strategic integration of land rehabilitation, ecological restoration, and conservation within the mining sector. With a PhD in post-mining landscape rehabilitation and extensive applied experience, she works at the nexus of nature, geospatial intelligence, and corporate strategy to ensure that environmental goals translate into business value.

At Anglo American, Heather focuses on embedding Net Positive Impact principles across operations, ensuring that restoration outcomes are technically robust, regulatory-aligned, and integrated into long-term asset planning. Through active collaboration with international conservation organisations IUCN and Fauna & Flora, she has contributed to the development of biodiversity metrics and the piloting of sector-wide approaches, ensuring Anglo American’s strategies are both credible and globally influential, reinforcing the link between environmental leadership and corporate resilience.
