Dr. Hussain Khansaheb is a marine engineering professional with over 18 years of experience in the Marine Sector. He currently serves as the Executive Director of Marine Engineering at Dubai Holding Real Estate, where he is entrusted with overseeing all marine projects under Dubai Holding’s Projects portfolio. In this capacity, he also acts as the principal liaison between the company and all government authorities in Dubai on matters related to marine development.
Dr. Hussain began his career as a Coastal Engineer at Dutco Balfour Beatty, where he supervised the construction of several major coastal projects across Dubai. He later served as Director of the Marine Transportation Department at the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) of Dubai, managing the city’s marine transportation fleet in alignment with international operational and environmental standards. His public service continued at the UAE Ministry of Climate Change and Environment, where he held the role of Director of Partnerships and Special Projects. There, he was responsible for strengthening the ministry’s engagement with local and international stakeholders, including the private sector. In parallel, he served as the secretariat for both the UAE National Biosecurity Council and the Green Development Council.
Throughout his career, Dr. Hussain has actively pursued professional and leadership development. He is an alumnus of the Public Innovation Program (Mohammed Bin Rashid Innovation Center), the Impactful Leadership Program (Mohammed Bin Rashid Center for Leadership Development), the Public Diplomacy Program (Anwar Gargash Diplomatic Academy), and the Strategic Security Studies Program (National Defense College).
He was rewarded by His Highness the Ruler of Dubai for ranking the first place in the specialty professions category within Dubai Government Excellence Program Rewards
Academically, Dr. Hussain holds a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, a Master’s in Maritime Engineering from the University of Liverpool, and a Ph.D. in Marine Engineering from Liverpool John Moores University in the United Kingdom.
