Dr Ian Hudson

Global Head Nature, Land and Water Stewardship at Anglo American

 

BSc Marine Biology (University of Newcastle), PhD Deep Ocean Science (National Oceanography Centre, UK), Diploma: Artificial Intelligence and Business Strategy (MIT). 

 

In this current role Ian leads a global team responsible for setting the strategic direction on topics ranging from biodiversity, physical climate change risk, rehabilitation, restoration, water stewardship and nature-based solutions. Ian joined Anglo American in 2020 as Head of Environment and prior to Anglo American held a range of executive positions in the energy sector covering a range of operational and corporate functional roles living and working around the world. Ian has spent time as a CEO of a private equity portfolio business in the energy and technology section and some of his previous global and operational roles covered areas like QHSE, Strategy, HR and Training, Marketing, Drilling Operations and M&A.

Ian currently serves as a Corporate Taskforce member on TNFD, continues to support conservation activities in the marine science space and is a keen rugby player and coach.
