Maria Belén VALENZUELA

Belen is Programme Officer for Forests and Grasslands at IUCN South America, where she leads initiatives on Forest Landscape Restoration (FLR) and the sustainable management of grasslands and savannas, linking conservation with policy agendas and productive landscapes. She has also supported the IUCN Green List across South America and contributed to Indigenous-led initiatives such as the Amazon Indigenous REDD+ (RIA), combining expertise in protected areas, forests, and community-focused conservation.
