Maria Eugenia PERIAGO

Biography

I am conservation biologist, specialized in native mammal conservation. I lived in many countries and went to University of Maryland in the US for my undergrad. Then, I got my masters and PhD at the Universidad Nacional de Cordoba in Argentina. I started working at Fundación Vida Silvestre Argentina in 2014 as a project manager for two of our ecorregional programs (Pampas and Chaco), with a focus on sustainable beef production and conservation of our forests and grasslands. In 2019, our office changed its structure to a thematic scope, and I became the Sustainable Management and Production Program, overseeing our work with soy, beef and fisheries. Starting May 2024, I changed roles to become the Strategy and Impact Program Coordinator, supporting the insitution with strategic planning, monitoring and evaluation of projects and funding.
