Nabegh GHAZAL ASSWAD

Dr. Nabegh Ghazal Asswad had a PhD. in Wildlife Ecology and Management.  He works as a Programmes Manager at the International Fund for Animal Welfare (IFAW) for the Middle East and North Africa (MENA). He is coordinating High Seas Communication and advocacy issues within the region as needed. away from seas, he has been overseeing Birds Rescue and Wildlife Crime work in Lebanon since 2022. He is a member of the IUCN World Commission on Protected Areas (WCPA), IUCN Expert Assessment Group for Green List (EAGL) in the Middle East, member of the Arabian Peninsula Plant Specialists Group (APPSG) and member of the IUCN Regional Conservation Forum for the Middle East. He sits also on the International Working Groups for many Endangered bird species under AEWA within CMS. He has been a member of the OSME Research & Conservation Fund Committee since 2017. He was a senior lecturer at the University of Aleppo (2010-2015).
