Oliver CONZ

Biography

Oliver Conz holds a law degree and has been a passionate conservationist throughout his entire life. From 2001, he worked as a legal advisor at the German Agricultural Society (DLG) before becoming head of central services at the RKW Competence Centre (RKW Rationalisierungs- und Innovationszentrum der Deutschen Wirtschaft e.V.) in 2003. He held this position until 2019, when he was appointed State Secretary and head of administration of the Hessian Ministry for the Environment, Climate Change, Agriculture and Consumer Protection. From 2024 to 2025, he was Director-General of Central Functions at the Federal Ministry of Food and Agriculture (BMEL). Since September 2025, he has headed up the Directorate-General for Nature Conservation, Sustainable Use of Natural Resources and Nature-based Climate Action at the Federal Ministry for the Environment, Climate Action, Nature Conservation and Nuclear Safety (BMUKN).
