Biography
I am an environmental anthropologist with additional training in geography and forestry & ecology. My interests are in the social impacts of global environmental problems, and the distributional consequences of environmental policies, particularly with regard to biodiversity conservation, ecosystem services, and climate change. I have long-standing research projects in Southeast Asia, including in Vietnam, Indonesia and Myanmar. I served as co-chair of the IPBES Nexus Assessment and have been an author for IPCC and the US National Climate Assessment as well.
