Biography

PAOLA ELIZABETH CERÓN QUEL, Forest Engineer, holds an International Diploma in Project Development and a Diploma in Water Schools. She has experience in the design and implementation of local, regional, and binational projects (Ecuador-Colombia) funded by international cooperation. She is a specialist in projects related to protected areas and regional and binational connectivity corridors, as well as the implementation of management models for the management of transboundary watersheds, protected areas, and conservation and sustainable use areas. She is a member of the coordinating committee for Ecuador-Colombia protected areas (AECID) and a member of the Binational Watershed Evaluation Committee (GEF UNDP). She implements agroecological production alternatives using the field schools methodology. She has held positions as Natural Heritage Coordinator, Coordinator of the Binational Project for the Protection of Water Sources (AECID), and currently serves as Head of the Cordillera Oriental del Carchi Protected Area and the Northern Andes Connectivity Corridor.
