Pedro CUNHA MENEZES

Biography

Pedro da Cunha e Menezes is a career Diplomat. In that capacity he was Brazil's Deputy Representative to the United Nations Environment Programme in Nairobi, Kenya. He is a Brazilian negotiator for key environmental conventions, including the CBD, Climate Change, RAMSAR, Migratory Species, and World Heritage. He was the Manager of Tijuca National Park, Director of Creation and Management of Protected Areas and General Coordinator of Public Use and Business at ICMBio, Brazil´s Protected Areas Agency. He is a member of the Protected Areas Commission of the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) and a  Member of the Board of Directors of the World Trails Network. He is currently Director of Protected Areas at the Brazilian Ministry of the Environment and Climate Change. Pedro fhas published more than 300 articles and books on Protected Areas.
