Roberto Andres BOSCH FIGUEREDO

Biography

Roberto has a degree in Wood Products Processing from the University of British Columbia in Vancouver, Canada. He has been a professor at the Universidad del Valle de Guatemala for Wood Science & Industry and a member of the Board of Directors for the National Forest Institute of Guatemala (INAB).

Internationally, he has been a guest panelist for FAO (Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations) and IUFRO (International Union of Forestry Research Organizations) to discuss forestry issues from a business perspective. He is a member of the Advisory Committee on Sustainable Forest-based Industries (ACSFI) of FAO. 

He focuses his work on sustainable forest management as part of a larger integrated landscape with areas for production, protection, research, agroforestry, etc. Also works on manufacturing wood products that generate better housing construction: environmentally efficient, durable, healthy and aesthetically pleasing. He is a 3rd generation family Director in a vertically integrated forest products company. 

He is the President for Gremial Forestal de Guatemala which comprises member companies such as tree nurseries, reforestation and agroforestry projects, land owners, forest professionals and wood industry. He is the President of Asociación para la Protección de los Recursos Naturales Renovables, a private NGO that focuses on natural resource protection through sustainable production and integrated forest landscape practices.
