Sukhyun PARK

Biography

Sukhyun Park is the Director and Head Researcher at the Sustainable Systems Research Institute, with extensive expertise in environmental policy and sustainable development. Her career bridges both civil society and government institutions. She previously worked as an activist-researcher at the Korean Federation for Environmental Movements (KFEM), the country’s oldest environmental NGO. She later served on the Board of Directors of the Korea Environment Corporation (KECO) under the Ministry of Environment. She has been a member of the National Nature Trust, a member organization of IUCN. Thanks to her research career and communication skills, she has been involved in the Korea National Committee of IUCN since 2021. 

She has advised numerous national and local governments, including the National Council on Climate and Air Quality, as well as the Sustainable Development Commissions of Seoul Metropolitan City and Gyeonggi Province. In addition, she has taught courses on sustainable development and environmental policy at universities such as Kyung Hee University.
