Zoë Zürn joined the IUCN European Regional Office in 2023 and now works as a junior conservation officer as part of the European natural resources unit, focussing on policy and programme within the European context. This includes work directly related to nature conservation, specifically on EU biodiversity policy such as protected areas, restoration, Natura 2000, international agreements, as well as some work on sustainable agriculture, Nature-based Solutions, and circular economy within the wider scope of the unit. She wrote her thesis on cultural values and perspectives of nature in relation to the management of a national park as part of the master’s programme in Forest and Nature Conservation at Wageningen University. She additionally holds a MSc in Behaviour Change (social psychology) from Radboud University and has worked on projects focussing on fair prices for farmers, rights of nature, sustainability and more socially oriented projects.
