VANESSA ROBITZCH

Biografía

Vanessa Robitzch (PhD) es bióloga marina especializada en ecología de arrecifes coralinos, genética de poblaciones y conservación. Actualmente gestiona el programa de conservación en la Organización General para la Conservación de Arrecifes Coralinos y Tortugas en el Mar Rojo (SHAMS), liderando iniciativas de participación comunitaria. Su investigación combina datos ecológicos, biológicos y genéticos para comprender la distribución de las especies, su conectividad y su resiliencia frente al cambio climático, con estudios que abarcan desde el Caribe y la Antártida hasta el Indo-Pacífico y el Mar Rojo. Vanessa nació en la isla de San Andrés (Colombia), estudió en Alemania (B.Sc., M.Sc., ISATEC), obtuvo su doctorado en KAUST y ha trabajado en Chile y Arabia Saudita, aportando una perspectiva global a la ciencia, las políticas y la conservación de los arrecifes.
