Descripción de la sesión
This session showcases how civil society organizations across regions are delivering locally-led solutions to achieve Land Degradation Neutrality (LDN) under the GEF-funded global initiative (GEF ID 10993). Through stories of innovation and grassroots action, speakers—women, Indigenous Peoples, and youth—will share transformative projects that strengthen capacities, influence UNCCD policies, and unlock new partnerships and funding. Framed within a human rights-based approach, the event connects land, climate, and biodiversity agendas while promoting engagement across all facets of society to conserve land-based resources, advance equity, and build resilience to climate impacts. Aligned with IUCN Congress themes “Scaling Up Resilient Conservation Action” and “Delivering on Equity,” the session spotlights GEF’s Whole-of-Society approach in practice and includes a youth voice. Attendees will hear candid insights on impact and barriers, and discuss how global institutions can better support CSO-led, inclusive, and resilient LDN efforts worldwide.Organized by
