Why attend
As the global transition to renewable energy accelerates, it is essential to ensure that wind and solar developments deliver not only climate benefits but also positive outcomes for biodiversity and local communities. This event will showcase collaborative efforts to embed environmental and social co-benefits into renewable energy planning and implementation.
Session Description
The session will feature contributions from international partners, including IRENA, CREEI and other key stakeholders from government, industry, and civil society. Together, they will share insights, tools, and case studies that demonstrate nature-positive and socially inclusive energy solutions. Participants will explore practical pathways to align renewable energy expansion with conservation and community resilience goals. The objectives include promoting co-benefit actions that enhance biodiversity and community well-being, demonstrating how renewable energy can align with global conservation and climate goals, facilitating knowledge exchange among conservationists, energy experts, policymakers and communities, supporting the transition to nature-positive economies by integrating biodiversity and equity into energy planning and finance, and highlighting the role of multi-stakeholder partnerships in advancing just and sustainable renewable energy solutions.
By convening conservationists, energy experts, policymakers, and community voices, this session will foster dialogue and action on how to scale up renewable energy in ways that are low-carbon, nature-positive, and socially equitable.
