Why attend

Women are key actors in in environmental global governance. However, they still face obstacles when being part of biodiversity policies, programs, actions and financing. This session aims to collectively reflect on the strategies implemented by IUCN in order to tackle these inequalities.

Session Description

Aligned with Gender Equality and Women’s Empowerment Policy approved by the IUCN Council at its 95th Meeting, the proposed event addresses the strategies implemented to tackle gender inequalities within the Union. The event aims to support the work carried out by women to conserve biodiversity worldwide. The diversity of speakers will allow different visions to be heard and deepen the debates already underway among IUCN's organisations.
