INDRA MANI PANDEY

Biography


Ambassador Indra Mani Pandey is a distinguished diplomat who joined Indian Foreign Service in 1990. He currently serves as  BIMSTEC Secretary General. Earlier, Ambassador Pandey had served as Permanent Representative of India to the United Nations in Geneva, Ambassador of India to the Sultanate of Oman as well as Deputy Ambassador to France and Consul General in Guangzhou, China. He also held diplomatic positions in Cairo, Damascus, Islamabad, Kabul and Geneva. At India’s Ministry of External Affairs, he was head of Disarmament & International Security Affairs Division and served at the desks dealing with West Asia and North Africa, consular matters and India’s 4 neighbours. Ambassador Pandey attended the Foreign Service Programme at Oxford University and the National Security Course at the National Defence College of India. He has extensive diplomatic experience, including multilateral diplomacy.
