Biography
          
                      Silke Spohn is a trained engineer for landscape planning, who has been working in international development cooperation for the last 25 years, mainly with GIZ. Currently she is the head of the BMZ support program on Biodiversity, Environment & Oceans. Before she worked in different countries, mostly in Latin America, like Peru, Panama, Nicaragua and Brazil. The projects and programs Ms. Spohn directed or the country portfolios she coordinated were mostly in the area of environmental governance, natural resource management, biodiversity and climate change. Furthermore, she headed programs to strengthen Indigenous peoples in Latin America and the Caribbean.
