James DALTON

Biografía

James es el Director Global de Agua y Humedales en la sede de la UICN, cerca de Ginebra, Suiza. Con títulos en desarrollo rural, ciencias y política, e ingeniería de riego, además de un doctorado en ingeniería civil y ambiental especializado en la gestión de aguas subterráneas en la cuenca del mar de Aral, aporta una profunda experiencia a la gestión global del agua. Durante los últimos 28 años, ha trabajado en más de 25 países, impulsando soluciones para el uso sostenible del agua. James ocupa puestos clave de liderazgo en los sectores del agua y la sostenibilidad. Forma parte del Comité Directivo de la Alianza para la Sostenibilidad Hidroeléctrica, la Junta Directiva de la Alianza para la Gestión Sostenible del Agua y la Junta Directiva de la Alianza para la Adaptación Global del Agua. Además, es asesor técnico de la Iniciativa de Bonos Climáticos, miembro del Consejo Asesor de Seguridad Hídrica del CDP, exasesor de la Iniciativa de Valoración del Agua del Gobierno Neerlandés y miembro del Comité Directivo de la Iniciativa Agua en Cero Neto (WINZ). De 2020 a 2022, fue miembro de la Plataforma de Finanzas Sostenibles de la Comisión Europea.
