Por qué asistir

Participants will gain a deeper understanding of what kind of support local communities and organizations want and need to be successful in their work. While each organization and community is different, we will identify common factors for more effective funding of community-level work.

Descripción de la sesión

What if we flipped the conservation funding conversation on its head – redefining communities not as recipients of aid, but as the primary investors in conservation? And then, find out what additional support they need to be truly successful. This session will challenge conventional power dynamics in conservation funding by centering the perspectives of community leaders and those who support them. We will explore what it means to truly start from the ground up–designing funding approaches that are rooted in community priorities, values, and lived realities.
